A forward wide point, low rocker and pinched nose keep it flat and fast, with a performance mid rail that turns down in the tail for bite. It's very skatey, it grovels very, very well, and you can still put it in solid surf. Blackbird says it works from 2 ft to overhead. This is the wider, fuller of our two 5'6 Hawkeyes, with a black stringer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere's a Volan patch underfoot across the back two-thirds of the board, which means lighter glass up by the nose. That keeps the board from being super heavy and makes it snappy when you need it.
