The 6'8 Sushi Roll is the most performance-oriented version of the lineup, offering quick acceleration, easy rail-to-rail transitions, and the freedom to surf aggressively without giving up the glide that makes a midlength so much fun. It paddles effortlessly, generates speed with very little effort, and feels right at home in everything from everyday beach breaks to lined-up point waves.

WHY WE PICKED THIS BOARD

Fast and free off the takeoff with tons of down-the-line speed. The thinner profile lets you set a rail and push through turns without it feeling tracky. Expect a mix of glide, flow, and release - especially in chest-high+ surf, but still capable when used on smaller days. This thing is versatile but shouldn't be confused for a small wave grovler.

ABOUT THE SHAPER

Lucas Plese is a Leucadia-based shaper who learned the craft of both shaping and glassing under the tutelage of renowned board builder Wayne Rich (among others). Living and surfing right here in North County, his boards are dialed specifically for the kind of everyday waves we see around town. His signature Sushi Roll has quickly become a shop favorite for its balance of speed, flow, and versatility across a wide range of conditions. Lucas is also known for pushing creative glass work, often experimenting with unique tints, patterns, and finishes that make each board feel one-of-a-kind.
